The former of these requirements also applies for keeping my scholarship, but is not calculated until the end of the spring semester. My current GPA averages out to around 3.26, which isn’t as high as I’d like it to be, but is good enough for the time being. I’d much prefer it to be around a 3.4 or 3.5, so I’m not really satisfied, but it’s still early enough that I can change it. I have no grades lower than a B-, and an A in my Astronomy class, which certainly help, but I’m very nervous about possibly dropping lower. A major problem I’ve had in that regard is messing up due dates between classes – if I have one class requiring assignments to be turned in on one day at noon, while another will have it on the next day by five PM, I’ll occasionally get the times and days mixed up in my head and end up turning an assignment in late. I originally applied to UCF as a film major, but realized that was a bad idea over the summer and changed to undeclared. I remained that way until mid-September, but after meeting with my academic advisor, I was able to decide on Business Management as the major I want to pursue, at least temporarily. With that in mind, I was able to start planning my classes for next semester and beyond, and will be starting courses in Macroeconomics and Computer Fundamentals for Business. Even if I change my major later, I’m probably going to stick with business of some sort – perhaps marketing, or finance of some sort – so those courses will still be helpful. I’m very glad that I was able to find something to work towards for the next few years. However, I will keep my eyes open for other opportunities, so that if I find something better, I can change my major before it starts affecting my course plans, so I can move forward instead of regretting the past. After all, there’s no way of knowing when I might find a new passion – the person I’ll be tomorrow might be someone completely
