Many people assume that working in nonprofit management means crunching the numbers or simply asking people for money. However, nonprofit management needs much more than just financial consultants and volunteers. In order for an organization to run like a well-oiled machine, it needs everything from “charity workers to marketing executives or personnel officers” (“Nonprofit Job Roles”.). Pets will always need homes, the arts will always need funding, and children will always need mentoring. I want to be the helping hand that reaches out to the people in need. I want to be a part of something much bigger than myself. At the end of the my career, I do not want to look back and reminisce about all the files I sorted and fun magnets on my filing cabinet. A livelihood is such an important part of who a person is, and I want to be a person who touched lives and made a difference. Nonprofit management is not about the fundraisers or the numbers. A nonprofit organization is about creating a social change and knowing that I am improving the quality of life for someone or something. Whether that beneficiary is one stray dog or an entire community, it is my goal to be a person how can always reach out to the people who need a helping
