Personal Narrative: A Career In Marine Biology

In my lifetime I hope to achieve a number of things that I will be proud of when I am older. Once I settle down somewhere nice, I hope to have a good paying job that I love. When I am able to support myself, I would like to get married and have a family of my own. However, I want to travel around whenever possible, seeing everything in the world that I can. These are only three of the many things I look forward to in my hopefully long life. As of now, I am unsure of where I would like to attend college once I graduate, but I do know that I would like to work with animals. I’ve always been super family oriented, so not having them around would be very difficult for me. My family has shaped me into who I am today. One thing that I can say I’ve inherited from them is their love for travel. Thanks to them, I have found my love for it pretty early. Traveling, to me, is something I view as almost magical. Everything you see has a history and a past that you have no idea about, the same goes for the people you pass by. You get to learn about different cultures and lifestyles while enjoying the beauty of your surroundings. Unquestionably, I would like to travel with my friends and my family. With all of this in mind, I plan to stay curious about the world I live in for as long as I can. All of this being said, I look forward to the life ahead of me. Even if I don’t become a marine biologist, or work with animals, it’ll be fine because I know that I will be happy with whatever I choose to do. The scariest, yet most exciting part about the future, is all of the unknowns. I feel as though I have a good head on my shoulders and an even better understanding of where I came from and where I’m going. Nonetheless, whatever happens to me in life, I know that I will be
