When I first heard of the $25,000 challenge I was excited yet hesitant. It was definitely a nice change from the previous assignments; however, focusing on what qualities I possess that set me apart from the rest of my peers, deeming me worthy of such a substantial amount of money, still seems wrong. On the other hand, I, being the wonderful student that I am, must put all moral objections to the back of my magnificent mind and get on my high horse to step up to the challenge. One does not have to search high and low to find a good, no, great student. I sport a 4.0 GPA and have never made below a 95 in any of my high school courses. My behavioral record is spotless. In addition, I participate in extracurricular activities such as band. Currently sitting first chair (the best) of …show more content…

I have been working at this fine establishment since March. At my house we don’t get everything we want. If I want something I have to work for it, and $25,000 would be a nice change of pace. I haven’t seen my grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins in at least seven years. Twenty-five thousand dollars could change that. My family hasn’t been on a vacation in over four years. Twenty-five thousand dollars could change that. There are so many things both good and selfish that I could do with $25,000, and I hope that this paper has shown that I am very deserving of the money. With $3000, I can either buy three thousand packages of Skittles or pay off some of my college loans. Although the idea of being surrounded by three thousand packs of pure sugar sounds ideal, I would rather utilize the money on something I truly need: education. Not only will this award ease a bit of my stress, but it will also motivate me. Earning this award would convince me to further perform challenging tasks for my studies, and would raise my self-esteem. It will allow for me to feel more intelligent, capable, and positive.…

I am also willing to bet there are a fair amount of applicants who meet the unwritten standards needed to receive this scholarship. I will not boast promises of outstanding grades or how this money could build my future. Instead, I will tell of my past, allowing my personality speak for itself. Growing up my parents always encouraged my siblings and me to stay true to ourselves, whether that is morally, mentally, and/or physically.…
