Personal Narrative: A Career In Engineering Field

Clock ticking, teacher talking, as you sit behind your desk tapping your pencil waiting for class to end. For some of us in the vast world the last thing we want to do is walk sheets. I myself fall in to this group. This is why I get involved with activities such as science, Boy scouts and mechanics. All of these programs and hobbies keep me moving and Teach me things that will help me in engineering Field when I grow up.

" The natural desire of good man is knowledge." Leonardo DA vinci, ever since I was young I would be outside with my dad helping him to change the oil or fix the brakes on the car . My job was to retrieve the tools that he needed. Through his example, I involve myself in mechanics, which in turn led me to start a small engine repair business out of my home. At first I wanted to play the clarinet, but Mr. Bloom my teacher convinced me to you play the baritone. Which is like a tuba, but the difference is the baritone. And play it for only two years( hardly ever practiced I might add) before I was asked to play tuba by his wife at the end of seventh grade . In the beginning I struggled how to play the instrument due to the fact that I had to switch from treble clef (which by the way is easier to learn than bass clef) to bass clef. Learning how to read the music is half the battle, then you have to figure out what note goes to which fingering combination.All fun and games right.Band engages the mind in more ways than one, first our reading the music then processing what movements your hands must take to get the right notes. Lastly you have listen around to the other sections and watch the conductor all at the same time.Its alot of work put its fun and it pays off to finish a concert and here what the adjudicator has to say. Ever thought how much science and music go
