One event that influenced me to pursue a career in defense, were the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. It influenced me because I saw the impact the attack made on our citizens, society, and way of life. We realized that we could be attacked and now we had to respond. From the age of seven, I was heavily interested in the military. Watching these attacks influenced me to want to help defend the country that I love. I am a first generation American. Both my parents came from China, so I truly understand the opportunity that I have been given. Many things such as education,

During my time in the Army, I have had plenty of obstacles, one in particular would be when I was a RTO (radio tech operator) and we were attached to another battalion to go raid a village. We patrolled all night until we walked twelve miles to our location avoiding helicopters flying in the sky looking for us. Once we finally set up an OP (observation post) we had a team go out and recon the village and we established a plan on how we were going to attack the village. My squad only had about nine of us, so we were not initially part of the main element to go in and assault the village. However, as we started creeping up to the first obstacle, a fence, helicopters started patrolling for us again.…

I do not think there are defense attorneys that do not work as hard to defend all of their clients because defense attorneys are supposed to defend clients even if they believe they are guilty. At any type of job, you are going work hard with your clients, so I think defense attorneys should work just as hard with their clients even if they have a hard time because they know their client is guilty. Defense attorneys are ethically bound to zealously represent all clients, the guilty as well as the innocent (Morales, San Francisco Criminal Law Blog papa #1). Defense attorney needs to work hard because chances are their clients is not going to tell them if they are guilty or not. If their clients say they are guilty, they could be lying, so…

The dusty debris clouded my feet as I moved through the ruins of the neighborhood. The pungent smell of the blood overwhelmed my nostrils, and my eyes watered partly from the effect of the dust and primarily from the overwhelming sadness and fury that warred inside of me. The once polished commercial buildings were wrecked; broken windows, crumbled pieces of the wall, and gang graffiti served as evidence of the disaster that struck this neighborhood. Silence ran throughout the area, and no human presence could be detected. The evening sunlight projected a red tint over the wreckage, like spatters of blood, and indicated the upcoming arrival of the rebels; who carried out their attacks predominately during the night.…
