On my first day, they had the new class wait together in the salon waiting area until our learning leader could come get us and show us the way to our classroom. The salon was empty and there was no sound besides the upbeat music blasting throughout the school. When we were escorted through the salon and to our classroom, we were greeted by clapping, yelling and high fives from every student and teacher in the school. The energy I felt in that moment was a little overwhelming, but it made me realize that Paul Mitchell was exactly where I needed to be. I was regularly surrounded by future professionals who wanted to learn and learning leaders who wanted to teach and watch us excel. I wanted to absorb every piece of information, every trick and every detail I could. SUNY Albany had made me doubt myself and my abilities, but Paul Mitchell and the learning leaders brought them right back out of me. I will never regret leaving UAlbany or attending Paul Mitchell. The information I learned about myself is as beneficial as everything I was taught about the trade itself. Despite not following my perfectly thought out five year plan, I was able to learn to combat my battles with all of my being. I became more confident and I know it is okay to struggle sometimes. Now, I always remember that even when I feel defeated and like giving up is the only option, there is a lesson to be learned and something better is just around the corner. Attending both SUNY Albany and Paul Mitchell made me ready to take on any challenges that may come my way. I am now able to look towards the future with hope and excitement rather than
