I worked in the medical field for twenty plus years, taking care of many patients from diverse populations and with many situations; such as substance abuse issues, homelessness, etc. I became disabled from the field of work but learned a lot about a diverse group of people by asking questions and looking up information to help me care for them efficiently. Recently I acquired a job as a program manager at a women homeless shelter; which is out of my realm of practice, but in four short weeks, I have found it is where I belong.
