My life has never really been hard. Sure there have been sleepless nights and stressful days that never seem to stop, but even when I'm staying up late to study or finish homework, I never felt like it was an obstacle I couldn't overcome. When he passed away, I remember feeling like it was a joke, there was no possible way that he could be gone, but he was. Leaving the hospital with my mom and grandma that night was hard because when we arrived at my grandmother's house, everywhere you turned there was something that reminded me of him. He wasn't in a lot of the many pictures hanging in the house, but I knew that any picture he wasn't in, he took himself. He was an avid photographer and would rather take a picture than be in one, always standing just out of the range of vision. Now I guess that's how he'll always be, standing where we can't see him. I remember one of the last times I saw him. He was working at the BBQ place, singing one of his favorite George Jones songs.
