Personal Narrative: A Career As A Veterinarian

When I was younger I grew up working around horses, and I always helped my dad train and keep clean. Once I learned what it took to take care of my horses I came to love it. Once I got to high school I got in the program FFA. I raised a pig for two years , and being around farm animals and raising them was fun. My experience around all that is how I became interested in the career to be a veterinarian. When seeking a career as a veterinarian, a person should look at aspects such as one’s responsibilities, necessary skills, work conditions, salary, and its prospects, but even more importantly is to prepare oneself properly by attending an institution of higher learning that will offer the best training possible. Dropping a class affects financial aid because enrolling into your classes are received by financial aid. To get it you have to attend at least six hours each semester and three hours each summer session. (Tamuk.edu 1) The degree plan for the Veterinary Technology as a incoming freshman is a total of fifteen hours for the first semester. One class you take in this program in intro to animal science and this class is four hours. Intro of Animal Science is animal science including comparative anatomy and physiology. Also the genetics, reproduction, production and economics. (Vet Tech Program 1) Another class to take is General biology that course is three hours which you study the principles of biology. The next two classes is Rhetoric & Comp. 1 and learning in Global context. By the end of the semester you should have a total of fifteen hours. ( Vet Tech Program
