Diversity in no longer just tolerated. It is gladly welcomed and encouraged throughout many parts of the world. For me, being a Turner Scholar would empower me to not only celebrate and embrace diversity but also to delegate the importance all types to diversity whether it be racial, religious,cultural, socio-economic, ect within the campus of University of Cincinnati. I feel that, as a Turner Scholar, I would use the tools and implements that are given me to expand my skills in public speaking, leadership development, interpersonal communications, and cultural competency. I would utilize these skills to not only encourage the significance of diversity throughout my campus and community as a whole but also within the broader context of my altruistic goals throughout college. As a Turner Scholar, I would expend much of my time in civic activities as I pursue my undergraduate studies in Medicine. I would devote a much of my time to volunteering at a the Children's Hospital, raising money for organizations that I am passionate about such as: United for Uganda, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, and the American Lung association, tutoring struggling high-school students in low income areas within Cincinnati, and overall helping those who many not be in a place to prosper solely by
