Personal Narrative: A Career As A Therapist

Live the life that you want to live, but don’t complain about it if I didn’t turn out like you want it to. This been my personal philosophy since I’ve been in college. I had made many mistakes in my life, and I live by those decisions, because I was the one who made them. Many people make choices that will affect their current situation, rather than making decisions that will affect their future. It’s best to plan ahead, so that you’ll be able to have the life that you always wanted.
As a therapist, you should have certain qualities that make the clients feel comfortable enough to speak to you about issues that are concerning them. A therapist should be understanding, non-judgmental and be able to create effective relationships with their clients. Effective relationship building is necessary to be a marriage and family therapist. In order for your clients to feel comfortable sharing their issues with you, they need to know that they can trust you, and be able to help them through whatever is troubling them. Without trust from the client, it will be hard to help them, so it best to create an effective relationship with them as a therapist, you need to understand your client’s beliefs and values, even if

My mother and father both completed high school but never went to college. The reason for that is, my mother got pregnant with me and my older sister which prevented her from pursuing a bachelor’s degree. My mother always made sure that I stayed focus on school, by providing everything I needed for my academic success. During my college years, I had some semesters that I did well in, but there were times I struggled. I had many obstacles in my life which affected my academic success, but I overcame them. For the past few semesters, I received nothing but A’s and B’s in my classes. Within my own Major, I have a GPA of a 3.4.
