Personal Narrative: A Career As A Sonographer

Decent Essays
I enjoy working as part of a team because of the shared ideas and interpretations. As a sonographer, I expect to work alongside physicians, nurses, fellow sonographers, and other medical staff to offer patients a comprehensive treatment plan. Observing current sonographers added a valuable perspective to my expectations; they ensured patient comfortability and knew when to either spend extra time scanning or push the scans quickly (i.e. abnormal valve function vs a frustrated toddler).

With the guidance of attendings, residents, nurses, and staff, I have learned many practical skills during each patient encounter.…
