Medical sonographer provides patient services in multiplicity of medical surroundings. Performing procedures on ultrasound machines to view and interpret images with sound waves. Obstetrics (OB)/Gynecology ultrasound was the reason why I was interested in sonography. Being able to tell a mother the gender of their unborn baby on the day of their scan can be an excitement. With little experience about medical sonography, it turns out that ultrasound is not just about the reproductive system of a pregnant woman. However, it involves scanning the whole anatomy of the human body. This changes the way how I view medical sonography. Taking introduction to medical sonography has benefited me enormously from learning the important qualities of becoming a sonographer, having the responsibility as a sonographer students, and the way the class reflected the experiences that I went through.

Communicating efficiently and answer questions are good communication skill in being successful. Being able to commute with nurse and doctors, but generally with your patient. Patient tend to have question on how a sonogram works on them, what is being look for, and even question about the images. Furthermore, your personality is what makes you a better person. Be confident and calm, this will allow others to know that they can feel at ease being with you. Having a positive attitude, proper posture and good manners show how well your personality is like. However, in order to become successful in the medical sonography field, you need the skills for it. The knowledge of using the equipment, and knowing how to get the best scan from the transducer. Also organizing skill and the understanding of ethics. Qualities is the key to become a successful sonographer, with this in mind “being able to do the job takes more than just getting the sonography degree and acting appropriately in the job interview”.
