At the time we were very low on coaches and trying to reach out to everyone that we could. Even though this may have been a very small success, I think it was huge. Persuading my friend to donate her time while she is also busy with school was challenging, but it helped improve my persuading and communications skills. Currently, my site only has two coaches. I want to have more coaches so the students can be broken up into smaller class sizes and get more individual attention. Currently, I am still trying to achieve this and I have been reaching out to my contacts at my school, my friends and even friends of friends. It is really hard to recruit college students because they have a very heavy workload, so persuading them can take a lot of time and effort.
My Program Manager is a great communicator and always makes sure my co site director and I understood what is expected of us. Also, she was always there to answer any type of questions that we had about our site or our responsibilities. It made things much easier on me because I fully understood what needed to be done. There is nothing I would like to improve because communication is key to success. No matter what troubles you are in, having an open line of communication can solve it.
