As a future register nurse and as a woman I feel that a have a tremendous responsibility to give back to my community. I believe that one of the most forgotten populations in our community is the elderly, and as a society we have so much to learn from them and to thank them for what they did in the past. My day started a bit off, I had an emergency that morning that made me run a bit late for clinical. This made me miss some important information such as, how nurses in NCBH hand over to the next shift, but aside that, I had a wonderful day working with nurse Mrs. Osei. As I opened the door to my house from a long day of middle school, I heard my mother crying. Before I could even see her, I knew what had happened, it had happened many times before, she had an asthma attack and struggled to communicate to the doctor due to English not being her first language.
