Personal Narrative: A Career As A JCIT

This summer, I worked as a JCIT at the BSAFE summer program. BSAFE is a summer program for kids from kindergarten to 5th grade, where they are taught school subjects and go on a field trip every day. A JCIT is a junior counselor-in-training, so my job was to assist the leader with the kids and clean and prepare activities for them. JCITs are closer in age to the kids, so they usually confided in us with their questions and concerns. Being a JCIT helped me gain a lot of patience and allowed me to learn to help with things even when I'm not directly asked to do so. In addition to this, at my church, I help in doing as much as I can. Some Sundays, I usher along with some other people my age, and on other Sundays, I assist the group leaders in
