Personal Narrative: A Career As A Firefighter

I never dreamed I would become a firefighter. Ultimately, I wanted to pursue a career as a commercial airline pilot. I determined due to financial obligations, that goal was beyond my reach. Consequently, a fire chief friend of mine approached me about becoming a firefighter.
However, I never thought about the fire service until he described to me what the job entailed. It was exciting to know, I could assist other persons with the skills I would learn from the schools I would attend. Eventually, I accomplished many certifications and skills in my twenty-seven year career as a firefighter. Some of those include firefighter I, hazmat, emergency medical technician, fire investigator, fire inspector, and I have been commissioned
