(According to payscale.com2014) Some of the tasks of a CNA are to bathe, feed, dress, and groom and help lift patients which require some physical ability. A good CNA must be adaptable to change, able to do more than one tasks at a time, and also be able to keep calm under pressure. A CNA must also record any changes in their patients condition, keep a record of what and when they have eaten, as well as, keep a record of their vital…
A third potential way I see this article by Jessica Lahey relating to me is as a future. I may be young, but not too young to think about how my upbringing and temperament may impact my future parenting style. I think myself and others my age should take this piece and think about the magnitude of the advice the author is offering. I do not want to be the mom who puts her children at a disadvantage by never letting them stand on their own two feet. I have a strong maternal instinct and desire to protect.…
My professional career has included some of the top regional theatre companies in the country. My personal experiences include attending night clubs from London to New York, attendance to hundreds of opening and entertainment driven events, theatrical performances, concerts, etc… I have the innate ability to recognize great talent of multiple genres and what will attract an audience and keep them coming back for…
Growing up thinking about a career I wanted to pursue was difficult. It varied from a tattoo artist all the way to where I am now with nursing being my main focus. It wasn’t until recently over the past three years when I realized this. Since my sophomore year I have managed for one of my high school sports. My sophomore and junior years I managed for volleyball.…
One would imagine their twenty-first birthday to be companied with friends and legal consumption of alcohol. I never imagined mine to be woken up by a phone call to the hospital. Being next to my mother’s side as she recovered from a successful kidney transplant was the best gift in my twenty-one years of life. My mother’s health journey is my drive to pursue nursing. I devoted to be my mother’s supporter and fighter to never let kidney disease defeat her.…
I work at the local Fareway here in Indianola and every Monday and Friday a couple from the COC comes and buys lots of food for kids in foster homes. It was a rainy Monday night around 6 p.m. and the couple came in to buy their groceries for the kids as usual. I was standing there bagging other people's groceries and taking them out for them. When I came back in, I had to bag all of the couples groceries for the kids in foster homes.…
When building a career in the medical field, never pick a profession just for the money. Unfortunately, numerous amounts of the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), working in our nation’s Nursing Homes and Assisted Living facilities, are doing just that. If you are doing this profession just for the money not only are you suffering, nevertheless the residents are suffering in addition. As Certified Nursing Assistants, we do not have time to be negligent or lethargic due to the fact that we care for multiple residents all at once. The cause of taking a job in the medical field for the money is that it results in insufficient resident care due to meager attitude and work ethic.…
For many people which career they want to attend college to work towards comes pretty naturally like teaching has always been their passion or they’ve always loved the feeling of being in a kitchen. For me however what I wanted to do as a career and attend college for didn’t come as naturally. I explored many ideas like becoming a chef. But I soon found out that I could burn water and therefore cooking wasn’t exactly my strong suit. After many failed attempts at finding a career that would be a good fit for me I started a mission to find out what exactly I wanted to be.…
When I first arrived in The United State I was truly alarming to go out or collaborate with different children. Before school began, I basically stayed inside and didn't have any contact with other individuals, aside from my relatives. At the time that I begin school in nine reviews, I needed to connect with different children surprisingly, which wasn't simple for me. I inevitably discover that I could be an equivalent to them and soon settled down into school. The nature of instruction in that first year wasn't awful as I envisioned it, I took in a great deal and grew a considerable measure amid that year.…
Katie, I can also relate because when I first started my childcare business, I fell on some hard times and needed some assistance to make ends meet. However, I was denied because my status was self-employed. I then had to keep my faith and know that this was just temporary. After five months, my center was full to capacity and had a waiting list. The whole Human Resources Administration is a double standard.…
The Person I have chosen to write this forum on is my mother. I grew up in a home where her parenting style was very authoritative. This has strongly made an impact on my life and how I am perceived by my friends and others. My mother was very consistent with boundaries however; she was always open to discussion. My mother had furthered her education in child and family services and therefore, implemented many skills in our home.…
The school I chose to visit is Child Development Services (CDS) Head Start I met with Sheryl Grasmick who is the center manager. She shared many of the safety procedures with me the first thing that is noticed when entering in to the school there is a key pad in the front entrance that a code has to be entered for the door to unlock the floor is tile and there are runner mats for when the weather is bad so students and parents don't have to walk on wet tile. Sheryl said they have fire evacuation, severe weather/tornado procedure and lock down procedures in place that all employees have been trained on as well as they do drills on a monthly basis to keep the students aware of the proper procedure. For the fire evaluation students are required to line up walk outside along the playground fence and line up along the back of the fence and stay there as their teacher calls attendance to make sure all students are accounted for once they are the teacher holds up a green card showing all are safe and accounted for, there is also a white card with a red cross showing paramedics are needed or a red card, meaning not all are…
My concern is about the fact that the children are taken outside for more than 15 minutes in the cold, rainy or misty weather. Both my granddaughters have been attending the location in Morrisville since the beginning of October 2015. Those girls were never sick for more than 5 days, but have been sick since the third week of attending this center. Although I have no complaints about any of the teachers, they are loving and caring, I do feel that it is up to the adults to decide when the weather is favorable to let the children stay out for more than 15 minutes at a time. Yesterday, January 7, my younger granddaughter was outside for over 45 minutes in a 40 degree misty weather; that was despite the fact that I've called the Director and…
I have prior experience working with children in the after school setting. However, I had never been in a position where I alone am responsible for managing a group of small children. These past weeks have been a challenge as I try to implement a program that is completely new. The activities that I have organized, generally start with a warm-up and end with a fun game. The children have been responding really well to all the different activities that we have been doing over the past few weeks and I have been learning along the way.…
My First Time Babysitting It was a dark rainy Friday evening, school just let out for the weekend and I was free except I still had one thing to do left, as I was doing a weird walk jog across the campus while trying not to get soaked just to get to the main building, as my phone started to make this weird ringing noise and obviously I got a bunch of looks. When I looked at my phone I saw that my dad was calling me and when I answered my dad told me not to walk home in the rain and just wait it out. Once I got to the main high school building, I walked through the maze of hallways and lockers, and finally just finally I made it to the front of the building. It was still pouring down rain when I looked out of the window, by this time the storm was almost through…
