On the above date and time I responded to 5142 Bay Boulevard, reference an unresponsive subject. Dispatch advised me while en-route that there was a male caller who advised that his wife was unresponsive inside of the residence. I was the first to arrive on scene at the residence. After weeks of cloudy skies and harsh winds, we have been welcomed with sunny and tranquil days here at McMurdo Station. The clearing of fog dense skies of past have marked the return of the majestic views of the Trans-Antarctic Mountains in the distance. With the days getting shorter and the constant darkness of the Antarctic winter looming; I decided make the short and leisurely hike down to Hut Point overlooking McMurdo Sound to watch the Sunset. I was able to catch an amazing video of a Weddell Seal coming ashore from the ice-cold waters. It brings upon a warm and peaceful consciousness when you experience nature in such a stunning and pristine environment.…

As I peered down the bluff, I saw the magnificent black-and-white beasts breach the water of the Salish Sea. The L-pod resident orcas were gliding past Henry Island in the San Juan Islands of Washington State. This sight reminded me why I was in the San Juans in the first place: to appreciate nature and do my part to protect it. I finally got to experience these natural beauties that I had heard oh-so-much about from the locals. The sea breeze flowed onto my face, and I appreciated the wonder of it all.…

As I was contemplating my first move to resolve the situation, I knew that I would need an adult ally to achieve my purpose. My mother would have to be that person. We spent the first night of the trip in a motel in Donner, CA. The next day we continued our journey to the San Fransico Bay area, where my father had secured a job working for the railroad. The first two days in California we stayed in a nice motel, and it even had a swimming pool.…

For just a moment, close your eyes and imagine that you see a small research boat bobbing gently in the rolling waves of a boundless aquamarine sea. From the surface, the seafloor appears to be a tangled swirl of blue rocks and white patches of sand; however, if you leave the world of air-breathing creatures and dive into the warm water, you will find quite a different scene. Mounds of colorful coral wind in intersecting avenues far out of sight, and countless schools of fish circle in rocky canyons and hide beneath the corals. Look to your left and you will see me and my teammates: we are over by a clump of white, unhealthy coral, examining it to discover the source of its distress. In a few hours my team and I will be back in the lab reviewing data, but right now I am enjoying the sunshine.…

During April of 2015, I stepped out of the car and onto the beach for the first time in Destin, Florida; the salty sea stung my nose as I breathed in a refreshing breath of briny air. The first step onto the sand was like a bed of blankets; soft and comfortable. The way the white sand glided onto my feet and squished between my toes felt like heaven. The waves were singing a delicate lullaby, pulling me closer to them. As I walk towards the ocean with the warm sand beneath my feet, the cold waves lap at my ankles, as if they want to take me away.…

Anna Maria Florida It was a hot, humid Sunday in Anna Maria Florida. We were going to the beach with the 3 other families that went with us. It was about a five minute walk from our house we rented to the beach, which really felt like five hours because I was really excited. Once we FINALLY got there my friends and I decided to take our shoes off and find a perfect spot in the white hot sand to set up of chairs and umbrella. We took our clothes off because our swim suits were underneath and sprinted to the clear blue ocean.…
