Personal Narrative: 15 Minutes Of Bliss

15 Minutes of Bliss Break, a nice rest in the middle of classes. A resource to some a time to play for others, for each grade to me break was different. In sixth grade 20 minutes outside throwing the football around. In seventh grade full games of two hand touch were played out in front of the library. Eighth grade was a choice between throwing the football or balling out in epic foursquare games. Ninth grade was foursquare and for the first time the option of staying inside all year round. Some days there was work or studying to be done for classes after break, in these times break was so valuable for doing the old pump and dump* or just printing something for the next class. Break was also based heavily on the season for during the winter break was just a time to chat inside with friends for it was to cold to go outside. As everything in the upper school does, every year break changes each year better than the last.
*Disclaimer: the pump and dump method of studying is a last resort, do not rely on it for all assessments after break.

Foursquare gets really intense but it is one of the biggest highlights of my eighth grade year. But there was something new this year break had been shortened to fifteen minutes at first I noticed the change but after a while it just felt like normal so it was not a big deal. One of the best parts of break my eighth grade year was the eighth grade bagels days, on the first wednesday of every month parents in the grade get bagels and candy for the kids, it was always so good. The winters also improved instead of being cramped outside the math labs we had the globe foyer to move around and sit in the nice airplane seats on the left and right. My eighth grade year seemed like the first year I fit into the upper

Sit back, buckle up, and get ready to scream because I love roller coasters. My family and I go to Cedar Point about every month in the summer, and my dad and I go and ride everything in the park. It is just so fun! The one thing I really like about roller coasters is that there are little rides for the youth kids also. My least favorite thing is when I am not tall enough to enjoy a ride, which doesn’t really occur anymore.…

Hi Ms. Pierce, Hope you had a wonderful break and a nice day, The word I would use to describe my break is deciphering because I got a break from dance and school. For example, I was able to sleep to try to avenge the early wakings during school days and early dance practices. In addition to that, I had nothing to be concerned about. Having a break from both school and dance gave me time to think about myself and what I wanted for my future; besides, I was able to unwind. The time I had was crucial to me because sometimes in the middle of all the activities in the year I have no time to think.…

I’ve been in school for about 11 years, every year is different, but yet the same. Because we are at the same school for years, it’s the same people, same school, and same everyday routine. Some years are better than others, but the overall best year that I’ve experienced is or was, 8th grade. The fun field trips to places, High School acceptance, and it’s the last year of middle school.…

“Deeper Into my Life” Individuals are unique in their own ways and one of mine happens to be my name, Darrnyejah Bolds. Everywhere I go people have a hard time pronouncing it. Many people have given up and just refer to me as “Ms. Bolds,” but also I have two nicknames “Nye”, and “Nyejah,” which is mostly used by family and friends. Over the years, I have adjusted to my nicknames and became very comfortable with them. I entered this world on February 27, 1997 with the zodiac sign of Pisces.…

The Ride: Man, I love snuba. My step brother Eldan and I, and my stepmom Kristina and my Dad walk out of the translucent, automatic doors at a rushing pace with our touristy looking outfits. As we walk out from underneath the shaded area, the sun pounds down on the four of us as if it was 200 degrees outside. If it wasn’t for the SPF 35, we would’ve been tomatoes. We panted as we approached the bus which felt like an oasis brushing across our faces.…

Awake. I was always awake. As if it were not already hard enough to sleep before with all the people I had lost going through my head, it seemed, whenever I shut my eyes, they would be there. Alex, dad, Gray, Suzie and now, far too fresh in my mind for any rest at all, Toshiko and Owen.…

A Few Words, A Lifetime Difference My entire perspective changed in the span of a single conversation. That day, like all the others, followed the same boring routine: wake up, go to school, go home, do whatever, eat, do whatever, then go to bed. The only variance to my schedule was the occasional extracurricular activity and what occurred in school. However, school for me was always easy.…

They revealed to me, “high school can be either your best years or the worst years of your life.” I told them, “I’m going to make the best of it.” But, it turned out to be the Worst Years Of My Life. On the grounds of me being a bad child during the time, I was always goofing off, fooling around, roaming the halls, and most of all never attending school. Before transitioning into high school, student’s was making up these false rumors about high school seniors calling us things like fresh meat and other faux information like that.…

This semester is has been stressful and rewarding at the same time. The reason that has caused these feelings such as stress is sourced from the workload that I hold and the little time allotted to complete such tasks. It is also rewarding simply because I am able to see what my limits and accomplish more than I thought I could. Personally this semester has been immensely hard solely because I have set many goals that I have been trying to accomplish. I have also been exceedingly busy since I work a full time job and its difficulty during this semester.…

Reflections Growing up, I went to a school form Kindergarten until my Senior year of High School. I grew up in a town of about a 100 people and held no job opportunities for your future. My parents had my brother and I when they were very young, so they weren’t exactly the kind of parents that gave us a bright future to look forward too. When deciding where I was going to college, the obvious choice to most of my class was to attend the community college about 30 minutes from our high school. I had other dreams in mind, I wanted to get out of that small town and as fast as I could.…

Christopher McCandles once said, “The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, for each day to have a new and different sun. I learned everything that I face in life, makes it a moment to be remembered and a lesson learned. I remember like it was just yesterday , entering the 6th grade at Young Middle School. When I first got there, I didn't know anyone. That morning we entered the gym sitting by grade levels.…

Finding the Joy There is a deeper understanding when it comes to writing; writing brings so much joy to others, whether some realize it at the time or not. Yet, I spent the first part of my life oblivious to this concept. As a young writer, I wrote because I had to; it was mandatory for the English curriculum. Writing came easily to me, never having to give it much thought.…
