Personal Narration: A Short Story

I felt something soft and sticky on my cheek. It was moving. I tried to push it away, it let go for a few seconds but came back and it was trying to do something on my cheek. Slowly, I recognized a silent voice that seemed to be very far away. The movements on my jowl became more intense.
After a while the voice became recognizable and I could understand the invitation: “Come on, Honey! You need to get up!” The voice seemed like it came from a woman and suddenly everything became clear.
I am Jonathan Russel, one of the most famous lawyers in the world and I was about to probably have my most important case in my career. The person bowing over my head was my wife, Karen. She was trying to wake me up with a “good-morning-kiss” in our stately home.

When I asked her for the reasoning for that cordial surprise she replied that she had made it because she loved me. What else could I wish for in my life? I thought to myself that I should make a note to remember, never let go of this wonderful person.
