On October 7th, I attended a personal mission statement session which was provided by the University of Texas at San Antonio Career Center. In this session I created a motto that made me choose couple of different verbs and core values which I felt best fitting to me. These verbs where believe, forgive, understand, encourage and respect. The core values I choose where, acceptance, faith, loyalty, creativity, courage, serenity, love and intelligence.
We then answered a couple of questions, that would lead to the creation of my motto. The first question asked, " what most excites you in or about the world?", the love of nature, family, the sense of wonder that is instilled in each individual, the kindness of strangers; are what excites me

While working for a startup, micro-sized accounting firm founded by my wife’s uncle, I found myself with the responsibility of leading the organization’s payroll service. In such a setting, this duty encompassed virtually all facets of business functions including sales, developing uniform system processes, managing information technology, nurturing client relations, and completing the payroll operations just to name a few. The company at that point grew from a single client having two employees to around 50 clients and a total of approximately 6,000 employees within a single quarter. Such growth paired with the lack of payroll-experienced employees within the organization led to a high stress environment fueled by crunched deadlines and on-the-job learning that usually led to serious error. Our team would find that in order to stay ahead of the deadlines from week to week, we would often need to work 50+ hours each week.…

I am currently a PhD student at Fuller Theological Seminary, studying systematic (constructive) theology under the mentorship of Dr. Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen. Systematic theology is highly significant for the gospel-centered life of the Church, in the sense that the discipline explores how the core message of Jesus Christ according to Scripture can be concretely embodied in particular forms of confessions and practical spheres of Christians’ everyday lives. I have been pursuing this area as my major area of my theological studies for 5 years since I began my master’s degree at Emory University in Atlanta, GA in 2011. My focus of study in the domain of constructive theology is the study of theodicy, in which I explore various…

As I reflect on my personal life I value life itself to the point I live each day not knowing what to expect the next day. Positivity is a major factor in all that I do to the point of trying to view all things in a positive way and leaving the negativity out the door. As a mother, partner, educator, and entrepreneur I strive to be mindful, spiritual, and conscious of all my actions. I value these things because this is what makes up my life and what I live for each day. My life is a fourth generation person and I relate because I “want to live, love, learn, and leave it like a seed with balance and joy" (Covey, 73) the quality of my life is more important than planning it out.…
