They are all social media sites where we can socialize, share and talk to friends when we have time to spend. But why is it that when we write about our lives or adventures that our texts change? For me Writing about a journal entry is different then emailing my twin brother about his life as a missionary. Artifact Number 2 is a journal entry about my life as missionary. This is a more personal text and writing behavior. This kind of text i would say is serious, emotional. The writing is turned into a story of which only myself can produce the true texts on what i thought, did, and what will come to the future. This is a good artifact due to the difference in my writing emotions and different personalities. For me this artifact was a successful writing portrait due to the construction, the layout that goes along with it. For me, something like this takes time and thought when writing this. Journal entries have never been my cup of tee, and for me to write a portrait of my life, takes deep patients and thought. By self observing myself, I have noticed that I can type differently, Write differently, and speak differently when it comes down to the situation on writing. My emotions change, My attitude changes as well. As well as writing style, and thinking process. These things all have a impact in my life when it comes down to writing a email to a friends, or to my

All of the writing you do reflects who you were and who you are becoming, writers are influenced by their work just as much as readers are influenced by them. “We become what we write. That is one of the great wonders of writing. I am best known as a nonfiction writer, but I write fiction and poetry to free myself of small truths in the hope of achieving large ones.” (page 71)…

The artifact is a packet for families to take home from Early Language and Literacy Development (ECE 203R). This was the first project that I did that was for families. I did not have to send it out to families, I just had to create it. I selected this literacy packet because it was the only project I make like this. Over the semester we had focused on the language and literacy development of young children and this was one of the many projects that we had to do.…

When I was a child I always though about business. I wanted to know how things worked, how money worked. I started watching my grandfather write his invoices, deposit checks, talk to people as if he knew them but they had just met. My talent is creating, and my form of creating is writing. Writing is a thing I've been doing since I was in the seventh grade. I started writing then because of a troublesome past, both my mother and my father had left my two other siblings and I all alone, leaving us with our uncle. It was very hard for me to adjust, I was fatigued and emotionally hurt, I turned to writing. My love for writing grew into a bigger part of my life when I kept dream journals.…

Journal Entry: I woke up late for class this morning, so I didn’t get to eat a good breakfast. I went to the store on the way to campus and got some orange juice and a granola bar to tide to over until after my classes. I wouldn’t necessarily count this as one of my two days that I get to go out and eat because it was a snack and it was partially healthy. When I got out of class, I made a couple of sandwiches while I did the last day in my journal so I could submit it before I went to work. On Wednesday’s I usually don’t work that late, but just in case I did I got all my homework done.…

My first though on this assignment was “ Who writes anymore? With all of the technology we have no one writes anymore,” I was wrong. I frequently find myself writing at work, at Intermountain Medical Center as a Patient Care Tech and as a Health Unit Coordinator. Often I am writing for myself, writing to my coworkers, other departments in the hospital and writing for as well as to my boss. Recently I noticed the longer I have been working at this job the more comfortable I am writing to my colleagues and my boss.…

I learned that all the prewriting is not the same there are different formats of writing. I haven't learned which essay writing best fits me. I believe that the one that fits me the most is the free writing because I can just write down anything and continue without stopping. I can write to whatever comes to mind and even though it doesn't make any sense I still write it down I feel that most of my best writing comes from free style writing. I can only do my best when I feel that I am able to more work under pressure and that I can relieve a lot of my stress by writing.…

When I was younger, I would eat up books faster than I got them. I’d frequently been caught reading books in the zaniest of places. I remember wanting to try writing, although I could never fully convey the words in my mind onto paper. Every once in a blue moon when I was able to; only I could understand what I wrote. It had fascinated me, and honestly frustrated me, that people could write these whimsical and arcane books that I’d held onto like a mother to her child.…

Throughout high school, I have noticed an overall growth in my writing skills. The skills that I have learned since freshman year has helped me grow as a writer. In the beginning of Freshman year my writing had limited vocabulary, informal expressions, and it lacked proper organization. My English teacher encouraged me to use a thesaurus and to read more books to help broaden my range of vocabulary and sentence structure. Therefore, these resources helped me build a vast range of vocabulary including transition words which helped my writing flow more smoothly.…

In his article “Social Media Helps Students Write Better,” Andrew Simmons discusses the effects that high school has on students and how being open and honest in their narrative writing assignments can help them explore their emotions and find an explanation for why they may be feeling the way that they do. Simmons’ point is supported by The University of Michigan Depression Center, or UMDC, an organization that strives to detect, treat, and prevent depression more effectively. The UMDC explains in their article “Journaling” that through keeping track of things like thoughts, feelings, and ideas in a journal, people can assess their mental health and treatment progression. In addition to writing being utilized as a way of record keeping, expressive writing improves psychological well-being, argued by Drake Baer in his article “Expressive Writing’ Is A Super Easy Way To Become Way Happier.”…
