Wouldn’t you want to live your life following your Personal Legend in order to become a legacy, an inspiration, and overall have a purposeful life? The Alchemist, a novel by Paulo Coelho, speaks grandly about one’s Personal Legend. A Personal Legend is what one is destined to do, and their spiritual purpose in life. Personal Legends are deserving to be followed before anything else in life due to the great pleasures it would bring you in life. First, following your Personal Legend would show your voice in this world, and would respect God’s wishes and plan. Next, it would also be influential to others wanting to follow their Personal Legend as well, and is a great teaching and learning experience. Lastly, it’d show justification in your life, as your purpose on …show more content…
In the Alchemist, the old Gypsy woman says, “You came so that you could learn about your dreams. . . And dreams are the language of God (Coelho 12).” This proves that God is trying to reach out to you, and tell you to follow your dreams, which is often one’s Personal Legend. Another quote, “It’s a force. . . There is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it’s because that desire originated in the soul of the universe. It’s your mission on earth (Coelho 22),” is stated by the King of Salem in the Alchemist. The King explains you were put on this universe to follow your destiny, and that you are deserving of doing such. Finally, the quote, “And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it (Coelho 22),” is stated to inform people that the universe wants you to succeed and be heard. When you put in effort in pursuing your Personal Legend, so will the universe. Following your Personal Legend is vital to living life to its fullest, because of everyone’s deservingness and God’s
