Hawk.Session1.Journal Hart-was there something that transformed the way that you feel? And yes correcting the mind, the rest will fall into place. In my quest for personal development,I`ve done a tone of processing, meditating, reading, praying, exercising, eating well, and helping other people. All of these things are amazing, and I still do them regularly, but none of it matters if I don`t guard my thoughts as though my life depends on it. The quality of my life literally depends on my thoughts.I never thought of myself as negative person, and most people who know me will tell you I`m a bubbly, outgoing, super positive individual. This is definitely the version of me that shows up in the outside world, and this is absolutely who I want to be.However, when I am under the spell of my "stinking thinking', I don`t feel so good and happy. I also begin to experience circumstances that are most certainly not what I want. One thing that`s been really difficult for me is recognizing when I`m thinking negative thoughts. More often than not, they`re totally subconscious thought patterns playing themselves out over and over again, and kicking my butt in the process. What I`ve decided that most of the time,it really …show more content…
I`m more of the confirmed and challenged everyday perspective Why? Each of us has a biased world view because we are all limited to a single camera perspective. That is we can only see what comes before us,and we can only hear what is around us.No one has the definitive version of reality, including the the author of this lesson. Our social location helps inform our world view-our race, class, gender, religion, sexual orientation, culture, ect Our world view impacts how we view, respond, and react to every experience. Our job in this lesson is to learn what stereotypes and biases are, beyond them to a more balanced ability to evaluate and understand

rticle 5: Crucibles of Leadership Central Theme: Perspective determines whether a person fails or succeeds. Bennis and Thomas describe a crucible as a “point of deep self-reflection” that forces a person to “question who they [are] and what [matters] to them” (Bennis and Thomas, p.99). The authors gave several examples that displayed how different people used their unpleasant or enlightening experiences to become successful. The most important thing to understand is that any opportunity good or bad can be taken as an opportunity to grow or go. Critical Analysis: The authors did not give a formulaic response as to how to overcome or conquer a crucible; they solely gave examples of how successful people have overcome their personal crucibles.…

I chose to read an article by Lesley Alderman titled, “The Year of Conquering Negative Thinking.” A lot of people are guilty of lingering around negative thoughts more than positive ones and it can get in the way of true happiness. Due to this common scenario, Lesley’s article mainly details all the steps that need to be taken in order to make this year, and even the years to come, all about less negative thoughts. As the saying goes, the first step to solving your problem is admitting that there is in fact a problem.…

While this statement is not completely correct it is also not completely incorrect. Spirituality is a very broad concept that cannot be limited to just one definition. It can be different things for different people. For some, spirituality could be engaging with others and being a part of a collective community while for others, it may be spending time in a meditative state sharing your thoughts with God. To generalize spirituality is a common mistake made by many people.…

While reading George Orwell’s 1984, there were multiple new aspects of myself that I discovered. I have found that the overlapping theme of what I learned about myself is that I question everything I am presented with, no matter if it is from society or from our government. The three most important things I learned about myself through reflecting in my double-entry journal were that I do not trust any form of government, I value basic human drives and desires, and I uphold misogyny as as a disgrace to society. Initially, I found distrust for government and its power most commonly mentioned in my journal.…

Date: September 20, 1957 Dear Diary, After a long class discussion on the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848, I have realized three things about myself as a junior at Smith College. The first is that I, as a female, am truly lucky to be here. I am privileged enough to receive a quality education, that will aid in the pursuance of my dream of becoming a lawyer. Secondly, I have also gathered that I live in a time in which the dreams of someone like me are not always socially supported. As I think about my gender, I have concluded that I inhabit an identity that privilege and oppress different aspects of my life.…
