Personal Honor Society Application Examples

I never really considered going to the Naval Academy until I was contacted by the volleyball coaches this spring. Initially, I dismissed the email, but then my father told me about the academic excellence and character development of the Academy, and I decided to look further into it. In April, I had the privilege to visit the Yard and witness the character of the Brigade and experience the dedication of each Midshipman to becoming the best version of him or herself in athletics, academics, character, and leadership. Regardless of who was nearby, they all displayed remarkable integrity by constantly to striving for perfection in every action. Being surrounded by people of shared values heightens the potential of a person or group; therefore, not only is everyone being pushed to their potential, but they are also expanding their potential at the Naval Academy. Considering my dedication to service, leadership, academics, and athletics to be well aligned with the Academy, I desire to contribute to increasing the potential of our nation. I know that I would be pushed to become excellent in all that I do, which would prepare me for anything my future holds. Learning to embody honor, commitment, and courage would allow me to serve others and our nation in every facet of my life. By promoting and developing strength in mind, body, and spirit, the Naval Academy would prepare me to serve those around me and our nation as a whole.
