According to textbook, “individuals and their relationships to historical events” play a huge role in social history perspective (Altenbaugh, R). In this essay, I will share how my personal experiences have even been related, changed, and/or affected by historical events. As I have progressed through my personal educational timeline, I have become much more familiar with the similarities and differences associated with past experiences. These similarities and differences are known for the impacts on my education today. Many individuals do not take the time to reflect on the past and how it has changed over the years. Therefore, they lack possible connections and knowledge that can be used for inspiration, motivation, and enlightenment. Through this course, I have been given the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the foundation of education through a social aspect. The insight and information that was taught highlighted valuable educational history, historical heroes, and progression timelines. From this information, I was able to …show more content…
My mother, similar to the mothers in the past and the text, was my nurturer but also sent a large amount of her time being my tutor after school. While my dad took care of me financially, my mother ensure that I was staying on top of my education. She had very high expectations for me which helped me to gain high expectations for myself. She helped me create routines and schedules to get my homework done. She would also reviewed my homework and ensure that I got to and from school safely and on time. Because she was a mother of three, she volunteered of her time to the school. She was a member of all the parental committees and helped to make vital decisions to help the educations for our school system.
