To make matters worse, this individual is also my superior that has inputs to my performance. Fortunately, this organization exercises an open systems policy that allowed an employee to review the supervisor’s inputs to the individual performance after the completion. Afterward, I did discover that the supervisor has altered the performance grade after he and I have mutually agreed on with signatures confirmation.
Regretfully, the organization consists of meander ethics officer who lack any direction and unresponsive ethics committee. I have raised the concern with another supervisor after I have discovered my supervisor stonewalling behavior. However, my supervisor was not approached by the ethic committee and no cooperate punishment was handed out. My encouraging attitudes towards the organization slowly changed. There was no top-down decision making process, nor was there empowered decision making process. My supervisor treats all his employees like a machine. Every task is scripted and we do not deviate from the company processes. Not only are we treated like a robot, there was also no groupthink in making any kind of decisions. Whenever someone encounters a situation that is not in the program script, there is an indecisiveness in making progress.
There was no motivation for me to go to work every day. I see lots of nervous team members with high anxiety with me being one of the many. You will see a depressed body language throughout the organization once you walked into the door. Moreover, the organization does not have any cooperators due to the “dog eat dog” environment. There were many competitors within the organization. However, the competition is not to win extra business for the company, but rather win the favor from the supervisor.
