Malala Yousafzai A single shot was heard from the school bus. People rushed to help, but it appeared that they were already too late. A bullet tore through the head, neck and shoulder of Malala Yousafzai. Millions waited, listening for any news on the Pakistani school girl’s condition. Initial reports informed the public that a lone gunmen had tried to kill Malala on her way back from exams at her school. The teen activist for women 's and children’s education now laid in a hospital bed in critical condition dying for what she believed in. Fifteen years earlier on July 12, 1997, Malala Yousafzai was born into a muslim family in northwest Pakistan. Her father was a poet and an education activist. She was given the best treatment and had to under go surgeries and intense physical therapy to regain all of her motion and to fully recover. The country of Pakistan and the world uproar. Anger flooded the streets of Pakistan and Malala’s cause was brought to a whole new level. The Pakistani government called out for a search ofr the assassin, and the United Nations discussed a new plan to be put in place to put all girls in school by the year 2015. In 2014 Malala was a co-recipentent of the Nobel Peace prize - The youngest person ever to receive it at only the age of seventeen. During her exceptance speech she was cited saying, “Though I appear as one girl, one person, who is 5 foot 2 inches tall, if you include my high heels. I am not a lone voice, I am many. I am Shazia. She never fails to show integrity and bravery even in the most dire situations. When the Taliban announced their plans to assassinate her, she did not waver in her beliefs, she did not back down, but she make her message clearer and louder. Her age alone inspires others. A person so young who is willing to speak out against one of the most powerful terroist organizations in the world and a tradition that has wronged women for centuries. Malala is powerful in her essences alone. Her courage, commitment, and the fact that she is very well spoken is enough to inspire anyone for her
