Personal Statement Of Purpose Of Health Education

My parents always love to tell a story of when I was a child about how I would always react when asked what I wanted for my birthday and Christmas. They would say that I used to respond by hitting my chest with my hands while jerking vigorously. It took them a while to realize what I was implying by these signs since I was not able to communicate properly, eventually they realized that I was actually asking for defibrillators that I used to see in a very popular programme known as the ‘the Emergency’. I was definitely impressed with that piece of technology and how it helped save lives. Even though I was still a small child the idea of helping people was very appealing to me. My parents brought me up with the notion that I should always get involved in all aspects of life, and their way of life also led to my grand parents always participating in the family and community affairs.

Health education is defined as a science that comprises of environmental, physical, biological and psychological sciences that enhance health and helps in the prevention of diseases, sudden death and disabilities. This is done through educating practitioners by studying their behavioral changes and at the same time it helps in the development of institutional, group, and community strategies that in turn enhance health skills and knowledge.
Do I really need to hire a health educator?
A health practitioner or professional who specializes on other disciplines may not have the knowledge of other health education theories, research, and knowledge this is because there isn’t any focus on this area. This in turn limits their professional services with their clients and makes it less affordable to the client. In the end, you will get what you hire. What do you need? A paramedic who understands the art and science of the field can contribute actively to your health education
