The first academic growth I have taken on while studying Aboriginal is habit. In the States, we are assigned homework just like this class, but instead of having one homework assignment per week it was sporadic. So keeping a steady flow of a lecture and reading due every single week on the same day and same time made me gain a habit of doing my homework every Sunday. Since I completed my homework every Sunday, the Aboriginal course made me get into a Sunday homework day because once I start doing homework I always just kept on going. So the two areas of academic growth is habit and also Sunday homework day. …show more content…
I definitely changed my attitude when it came to equality, I look at Aboriginals the same as any normal white person. Before this class I thought that Aboriginal were equivalent to a African American in the states, they have equal right but still get treated different whether people deny it or not. So I definitely think of Aboriginals the same and they also have the same rights, the same freedom, and just overall the same as everyone else. The only thing I think differently about when I see them is them and their digeridoo, this is because I only see Aboriginals playing it and no one else. The next attitude that change is the excitement of reading the readings and learning more about the Aboriginal culture and ways. In the beginning I thought of it as just a class I need to take to get a degree. But toward the end I actually started to get excited about doing the reading and learning more about Aboriginals because I started to get more into it and involved. I really learned a lot more then what I expected to learn. I thought this course would be a easy, not really learn that much course. One that I can just skate by with no effort into it at all, but that definitely was not the case. This course was challenging, but easy. The material was easy to do but the amount of material that we learned was a lot. This was my very first online class that I have taken ever and I can truly say it was a good experience. I am shocked that I kept up with the readings and with the lectures and that is a huge achievement for me. Since we were learning about Aboriginals and their culture I looked up movies and I had my roommate and I watch Rabbit-Proof Fence and it was amazing to see the content of what we were reading come to life in a movie. I love learning about different cultures and then watching it and knowing exacting what was going on and why they were doing it. This course was a great learning experience and it was nice to learn about the original people of Australia and how they came out. This course not only was Culture course but also a history class as well. From me, I would give positive feedback across the boards, I really enjoyed learning about Aboriginals and listening the professor’s
