I believe that each child should embrace their individuality, organically. I believe nothing should be forced on a child that would hinder the development of their personality. By doing so, I hope to be a positive influence working with parents, staff and the community. I encourage singing in the classroom, not only as a way to practice memorization by repetition, but also as a way to bring the classroom together and feel as a whole, which brings up my next point; living with others. I want my students to feel comfortable with each other, by emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong bonds/ relationships. When I first applied for a Teacher position at a Licensed Child Care site, I was told that I did not have enough ECE/CD units for the position, so I became an Aide instead. In my recent searches for work in this field, I’ve found that a lot of Licensed Child Care sites will require at least 12 units. Because of that, it has been my short-term goal to take at least three to four courses in ECE/CD that will allow me to qualify for certain Teacher positions.
