Savulescu uses the intertextuality to emphasise his perspective on “gifted genes” as “genetic inequality,” “gifted children” and “biology [determining] ability” are all problems that arose within the film Gattaca as genetic engineering became present within the dystopian world. Savulescu’s exploration of these problems highlight how “genetic analysis of embryos” could be used to “identify children [more] likely to succeed academically” indicating that these children could be “hot-housed” while other children were put in “slow streams” and “denied entry into certain jobs.” Conversely, Ford structures her article to build her perspective off of…

After concluding the genogram, it dawned on me that my family didn’t necessarily have many issues regarding emotional relationships. I think most of it has to deal with the recent transition of a laid-back household to a religious household where my parents are very much involved with the church alongside my younger siblings. With that being said I did notice that my paternal family had a higher chance of dying young whereas my maternal family had a much longer lifespan. I also took into consideration that the marriages that occurred where between individuals that where only a couple of years apart from one another. I can’t claim any educational patterns that have occurred within the household since I’ve been the only one who’s attended college.…
