The number one reason I want to attend Ball State University is to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to become a Registered Dietician with a concentration in data analysis and research to aid in finding a cure for Autism, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes. The one of the two areas which has had the greatest impact on my life both personally and academically was when I was thirty-five. I was introduced to vision therapy for previous vision related issues. Vision therapy was the key to open the door to postsecondary education. After one year of vision therapy, I could read chapter books for the first time without falling asleep. My vision improved immensely as well as my confidence and self-worth. Secondly, when I was forty-five, my older sister graduated from nursing school. As she walked across the stage to receive her diploma, I was deeply moved by her ability to overcome diversity in her own personal life and attain a lifelong goal: a degree in nursing. In addition, Ball State University offers a quality education to fit my family and work schedules. For example, classes are scheduled within the parameters of traditional classrooms with a professor or on-line. Moreover, Ball State Honors College will develop leadership skills that will enhance learning both inside the classroom and in the community. By transferring, Ball State’s Honor College will act as a catalyst to engage me on the career path as a Registered Dietician. Furthermore, once the decision to attend Ball State University, there will be no looking back.
