Personal Experience: Transitioning Into High School

I have been reading since I can remember and my opinion on reading has been a rollercoaster since then. My parents read to me every night until I was about 8 years old and then I began to read on my own. When I was in 4th grade I was able to quickly finish the books I picked out, I would read on the bus, in the car, at family events, I was constantly consumed in the material unable to put the book down until I simply fell asleep. Then, when I went to middle school I did not read as often as I previously had been, as I was only reading the books that I was assigned to read, which were not books I was interested in, during that time period it was very hard for me to stay focused.
