Am writing this as a request to remain in the ADN program at Vernon college because i have now missed 2 twelve hours clinical which is 4 demerits. The first missed clinical day was on Thursday 20th October because it was out of my control due to an immigration appointment as attached below. Prior to the first absence I texted and emailed my clinical instructor and also informed Jennifer Hartley and Jenifer Brumley through email. I missed the second clinical day which was a Saturday Medsurg preceptor clinical on October 22nd. This happened because I had my schedule mixed up from the start of the semester. I made a big mistake, for some reason, all the time I had it on my calendar that I had a Medsurg night shift clinical which I was prepared

These patients had several medications for their chronic conditions such as diabetes, CHF, COPD, and hypertension. This lead me to administer several medications throughout these shifts. In addition, I performed several blood glucose checks, skin care treatment, and performed all assessments and charting for all six patients, and performed change of shift report on five patients. In relation to advocacy I had to advocate for almost every one of my patients in different ways. One patient needed an additional medication to control his heart rate, one patient had some cultural preferences she wanted to include, and another family who was not happy with their care on a previous unit.…

I’ve had the opportunity of completing my clinical rotation at Baptist Hospital with the medical team in which I've observed the different participants in the collaborative team and the specific role each person played. The team consists of physicians, surgeons, social worker, ARNP, physical therapist, and occupational therapist. While observing the team, the best outcome for the patient's treatment and prognosis is focused on before being discharged. For example, if the patient does not have insurance coverage, community resources are addressed to assist and provide the patient with the proper care post discharge. Learning how cares for patients that have been newly diagnosed with various neurological diseases as well as their long-term care…

Thank you for reviewing my petition and getting back to me. I just wanted to point out that I had already withdrew from that class on time. When I submitted the petition it was for late drop. The reason I applied for late drop after already withdrawing from the class was because I wanted to make sure I was withdrawn in case you didn’t accept my late drop petition. I was told that I could still apply for late drop after withdrawing to be safe.…

Throughout the entire semester, I incorporated evidence based practice into my clinical days. Whether if I was performing a skill or if I was observing my nurse do a skill, I was thinking is this evidence based. I observed nurses use water instead of alcohol to clean an area on the skin before pricking a patient’s finger for a blood glucose check; this I knew was evidenced based. Some none evidence based thing that I observed were using 5/8inch needles when the nurse should have been using a 1inch length or not using two hands when assessing a patient’s fundus. I met my midterm goal of telling the nurse nicely that this is not what we learned in school.…

My clinical experience so far has been quite interesting, because I learned basic clinical procedures and preventions that I know will benefit me as a nurse in the near future. During lab, we discussed infection control, personal hygiene, and isolation precautions. These procedures impact my personal health and wellness, because I need to ensure that I am using the proper techniques in order to keep me safe. Also, I know that it is important to make sure my patients are not at risk of developing hospital associated infections.…

I am appealing an earlier petition of tuition reimbursement that was denied. They denied it because the health problems where all current and ongoing. While they are not wrong about that I do feel as though they ignored some important key factors in the situation and there has been some new health diagnosis as well. I dropped my Accounting II class and my Computers in Society class, I am just asking for a tuition reimbursement so I can retake them in the following semesters.…

Whenever you receive my final transcript from the University of Alabama, you will notice I received a grade of a “D” in one of my final courses. This is the first and only class in my life I have ever received a grade lower than a C- in. I have a genuine explanation of why I have done so poorly in this class for the semester. I had an emergency surgery in November and was in an excessive amount of pain that lasted until December, which caused me to miss a lot of days this semester. My professors worked with me to help makeup a few things that I missed, but I found myself unable to focus and do my best with all that I was going through at the time.…

My first clinical experience was at St. Vincent hospital on a geriatric unit, when I was a second year nursing student. During my time there, nurses often approached me to provide small learning experiences and teach students how to be efficient. When a nurse on the unit asked for help with a bed bath for a patient with whom I was not familiar, I agreed. I wanted to get as much experience as I could. The nurse led me to the patient 's room right away.…
