We began making a difference in our patient’s lives. Helping our patients get home sooner to their family and friends. Other quality measurements I look at on a monthly basis are VAE, BIPAP’s and missed medications. During a quality meeting we decided to help reduced the amount of treatments missed. After chart audits and meeting with my team we found that providing education to both our patients and associate’s. We educated everyone on the importance of not missing their medications. Once I began a performance improvement plan we were able to reduce our missed medications from a 10.2% to a goal of less than 5% missed treatments.
I have a lot of experience in dealing with patients and healthcare team members. Typically the solutions that we need are found through quality. I would define our solutions as involving education and offering positive solutions. I believe this is what has sparked my passion for quality, when I discovered that I could use my creativity to solve our patient’s problems.
The more that I worked with Quality the more I was able to apply my reasoning and creativity to causes further up. I have worked with my team and leaders to help solve problems. I believe that with this position can help me sharpen my thinking about problem solving and lead me to looking for ways to prevent future problems.
