Personal Ethics Research Paper

Personal ethics involves identifying what is right or wrong when faced with circumstances based on your customs, values or beliefs. These aspects of life are adopted over time as we are bred by our surrounding family members and communities. Personal ethics involves committing to an ethical system that is the guide for that person to follow their entire life. If we are influenced by our customs, values and beliefs this means when it comes down to making decisions this is the basis of ethical decision making for us. At this point in my life the people who have had the most influence in my personal ethics are my direct family members and friends. As a young college student most of my life I have lived with my parents and they have demonstrated to me over time what is right and wrong and how I should react in particular situations. Values such as honesty, commitment and responsibility are all values my family members have led me to adopt over time as I continue to live. The way I adopted these values was living day to day and seeing how my parents reacted and faced circumstances. When I would face similar particular situations if I would not act how they would then I was wrong and they would correct me so that the next time around I would morally commit to doing it the right way. Although I have adopted personal values which led me to make the right decisions when I faced with certain situations, as a professional I still have a lot of learning to do because in the professional setting there is never a right or wrong answer, there is always a grey area, where the simple answer or action does not exist. However, my personal ethics are not involving because I realize the values my parents have instilled in me over time are useful and will led me to the right decision most of the time in my life throughout college and my
