Growing up, my education was different from most. The majority of people I meet are unfamiliar with Waldorf education. It goes against the grain of what the standard education system is set out to be, and so it is difficult to discuss and explain. Throughout my primary education I attempted my best to help people understand the unique nature of Waldorf. Once I became a freshman in high school, I enrolled in a public school and left the creative style of learning behind. Waldorf education is strong in the arts and it helped grow my love and appreciation for the talents I developed. something which I have continued to explore throughout my high school and college years on a deeply personal level. Waldorf helped me learn how to express myself in a way that was natural to me, promoting self discovery. I received encouragement from all of my teachers to explore and question the world around me. Which in turn fueled my curiosity and passion for learning.
As we grow older, the experiences that define us shift and evolve. We focus on the future and less on the past. We put greater pressure on what we are expected to become as opposed to where we have been.
