Personal Narrative: My Personal Culture

Every person has their own unique personal culture. One 's culture plays a huge role in shaping one 's identity. Culture can come from your heritage, where you live, or the people around you. Culture can shape how you act, who you are friends with, and which hobbies you choose to take part in. Everyone 's life is different, which means none has the same exact personal culture, and it sets people apart from each other. Without my personal culture and upbringing I would not be the person I am today. I am the person I am today because of my family, my friends, and where I grew up. In my family, heritage is very important. My grandmother and grandfather are from Ireland and met to the United States. Both of my grandparents come from big families over over eight children. They are very close with their families and when they moved to the United States they brought their culture with them. Throughout my life their culture has rubbed off on me. They have taught me that family is the most important thing. My grandmother makes Irish meals for my family every week and almost every weekend we have dinner together. They love being with their family and I am very fortunate to live so close to them. I grew up with seeing my grandma almost every day and because of that many of her beliefs and actions have rubbed off on me. My …show more content…
I was fortunate enough to have a great school that supported the arts and had such a program. I was also very fortunate to have a fashion teacher who taught me so much and helped me make my way to being vice president of the fashion club and encouraged me to make the biggest fashion line my school has ever seen. In my school I got so much support for my fashion designs and clothing that I made.
