In the car, my grandma had explained to us that our dad had called and asked her to take care of us and make sure we had the opportunity to have an amazing life. She explained that we were going to be going back to Michigan to stay with her for a while. I didn’t understand why at the time but I liked the snow so I was excited to go. This all happened before my 8th birthday so as you could imagine it was very hard for me to understand the things going on and why things were the way they were. Some may think I am crazy to say this but I am so glad my childhood was the way it was, because it changed my life in so many ways. I am now an honor roll student and three sport athlete.
