As your family sleeps peacefully at night, they patrol the streets and protect the safety of everyone out there. They keep watch over the city in search of wrong doers and “bad guys.” They aren’t your normal superheroes with capes and tights. They don’t wear flashy outfits to hide their true identities, they look just like you and I. All people need some form of protection and police men and women provide that. Hard working and dedicated, they give their time for every family in need of protection. They keep the streets as safe as they can and are there when your family needs them. In article that was published not too long ago titled “Weston Police top list of highest paid town employees” mentions that, “Weston police Sergeant Patrick Daubert was number one on the list, earning $177,328” (thewestonforum.com). When you compare this annual pay to the annual pay of an Odessa police officer, there is a noticeable difference. As the Weston police may be getting paid heavily, do they take on the workload that an Odessa police officer takes on? In some polls, Odessa is one of the most dangerous towns in Texas so with more violence comes more work and danger for the officers. As for the Weston police, not so much.
