The explanation is simple, it is because people pay absolutely no attention to their surroundings. No one stops to value, and truly think about the everyday conversations, the people met while walking down the street, and even books, which continuously are being left unopened. The first thing that caught my attention when I first opened the website was the moving words. The words were saying how they are not sorry and are only committed to white interests and values. The word Traditionalist American Knights appeared in three different places just on the top half of the website. It seems like they really want to get their point across using this statement.…

We live in a world sculpted by the work of technological professionals. As the significance of the choices made by engineers increases, it has become more and more important to ensure that these choices are ethical. Through analysis of Eric Katz’s ‘Nazi Engineers’, it is clear that technology is value laden and societies’ ethics ultimately determine the direction its technology goes. Katz writes this essay to educate his students about Nazi ethics so they can avoid their misguided moral reasoning and learn about the ethics embedded in technology. A Response to Question 1, Section 1: The Meaning of Life: Wolf vs. Taylor Both Richard Taylor and Susan Wolf understand the difficulty of answering the question, “What is the meaning of life?” Taylor begins his “The Meaning of Life” by saying that we do not even understand what the question means to then answer it, and Wolf claims in her own “The Meanings of Lives” that the question is embarrassing to ask because, as Taylor asserts, we really do not understand what is being asked here. Taylor proposes, then, the best way to answer this is to ask what makes for a meaningless life, and perhaps from this comparison, we can find some answers to the original question. Wolf appreciates Taylor’s approach as she also adopts his method, and even though…

Monday, August 22nd, 2016, approximately 10 o’clock PM. I arrived home after a typical summer night out with my friends at the local Applebee’s, however I was greeted at the door by my already enraged father. Before I had time to take my shoes off of my feet, my father was already ridiculing me, spouting phrases such as “you’re so irresponsible” and “you cannot be trusted with anything.” Now of course there was some foul language included sporadically in those remarks, but overall I was shocked at why I was being attacked seemingly unprovoked. My father then decided to inform me that tomorrow at 8 AM I had to report to the soccer fields at Holy Ghost Preparatory School for soccer tryouts.…

Like every child, I went through the ubiquitous “why” stage where I posed this question even to the smallest, most mundane events of life. Filled with genuine curiosity and fascination, I desired to understand the ornate workings of the world. Unlike the majority of children, however, I did not lose this fervor and drive to find answers. This inquisitiveness laid the foundation for my interest in research work. Growing up, my family placed a tremendous emphasis on health, fitness, and nutrition.…
