Every day I got up and put job first and devoted all my time and energy to whomever I worked for. I was laid off from several employers, I was never fired so I had that going for me. 8 years ago I found myself once again staring down the barrel of a pink slip. I and twelve other employees started the production of the first 2GB Flash memory for the IPod Nano. We had worked out the bugs of production for it to be moved to a much larger scale in Singapore. I had seen the writing on the wall for some time and new I was going to be on my own again soon so I made the decision to join the military.
27 years old and no better off than when I walked out of high school. I didn’t see the military as a way of fixing my problems. I wasn’t doing out of patriotism, or to fight terrorism, I did it simply to do something else. I had taken a job with the Air Force as a Civil Engineer. Something about the engineering part peaked my interest. I made it through basic and technical training with ease and earned high marks. I entered into the active Air Force and quickly advanced in rank and abilities. For the first two years I was a big fish in a little pond, that’s a pretty sad life I
