Watching my two older siblings go off to college while still in middle school, something sank in. Anything I aspired to be was within reach with hard work and perseverance. Careers danced through my mind including a chemical engineer, a forensic chemist, and countless others. Looking back, before overcoming the obstacles I have, I would’ve never imagined the goal I have now. It all started fall of 2013 on the soccer field. During a scrimmage, I fell and slammed my head onto the ground. My first concussion had been handed to me. Unfortunately, this one was followed by three more, which makes my total four concussions in 1.5 years.. Specialists, visual therapy, and many IMPACT tests later, I am fortunate to be back to myself. Although I’m not planning on becoming a concussion specialist, I want the community to know that I have experience to help their children. This job is going to be massive, and I need other people’s assistance. My mother is definitely someone who I would love to help me project my message. She would be able to offer a perspective from someone taking care of a concussed person. By studying in college, I hope to meet future colleagues that share my passion and can help assist the nation. Many people dispersed throughout the country will be fit into this project, and once we conquer the country, we can raise awareness worldwide.
