I have been fortunate enough to attend the Canadian Musical Theatre Project (CMTP) the last two years, and I have never felt such an empowering feeling from theatre. Seeing new works being produced by top industry professionals while also being used as an education tool for up and coming artists it just exhibits the magicalness of the program, and really shows how advantageous it is.

Overall, I cannot say enough about how greatly I yearn to be apart of the Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program at Sheridan College. To conclude this bundle of words I wanted to end off by saying that I believe this program would have the ability to fully prepare myself for the business of musical theatre and just typing that statement makes me remarkably elated. Thank you for taking the time to read my artist statement, and have a peachy

The first Broadway musical I enjoyed was Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I was about thirteen years old. It was more elaborate than the small performances at Disney World. When the word “home” is defined in a dictionary you are given definitions like “the place in which one’s domestic affections are centered” or “any place of residence or refuge” but to me home means so much more. To me, home is theatre. Those who know me well will attest that the change in me throughout this experience is drastic. Theatre transports me to places I couldn’t dream of otherwise and two years ago, I was taken to a place that would change my life forever and theatre transformed to the place I call home. Thoughts and ideas flooded my mind as I stepped into the off-green colored cafeteria.…
