My background has shaped who I am today because I have values that I cherish. I am Irish, French and Italian. I personally value my Irish heritage. My family has always been very close, and has allowed for each of us to grow into who we want to be. I believe my greatest strength is my family values, family always comes first. Marriage embeds individuals within a network of extended family and friends, and child bearing and home ownership are associated with greater levels of neighbourhood attachment and involvement (Glezer 1997: 9).
