Personal Essay: My Love For Football

It is important for me to be at practice and try my best everyday because I really do want to get better. The better I get the more I could possibly get noticed and impress colleges. Although this is only my freshman year, I’m really looking to make an impact on varsity. My football season went great, and I really got my name out there, so I want to continue this trend for wrestling. People say practice makes perfect, and everything you do you have to practice it. Going to practice and actually trying will make me not perfect, but close to it. The way I’m going to do this is by not making excuses and going to practice. An example for that is today I didn’t feel too well, but I pushed myself through practice. During conditioning I did my best to finish in the top 3 when we were running, which I did more than once. I’m going to continue this trend.

Another goal I have is to not worry about material things as much as I used to. I’ve noticed that I’ve started to care about how many pairs of shoes I have or what brand they are. I want to change this because some people don’t even have shoes to wear, clothes to put on their back, and food to put in their mouth. I want to be more humble and not take

I already get good grades, but I want my grades to be more than good. I have heard from many people older than me that I need to focus on my grades because that is what really lets you live the life you want to live. In the past year my perspective on school has changed dramatically, and instead of going to college for only two years I want to go for four or more.I really want to be successful because I don’t want to live an average I-just-want-to-get-by type of life. The way I’m going to focus more on school is to block out all the unnecessary distractions.
