My interviewee’s name is Mrs. Caskey, and she was my art teacher in high school. I chose to interview her because she made a great impact in my life and was a main reason as to why I wanted to become a teacher myself. Her students were always her top priority, and she would do everything in her power to see them successful. Our terms of success were actually pretty similar and made me love her even more as an educator. My definition of success isn't the amount of money you make, but the influences you make in others life. Mrs. Caskey is successful because of her passion to help others in the classroom, and she the main reason why I fell into the passion of art even more than I did before. She replied, “ The quote that I lean on most often is " Every day may not be good but there is something good in everyday." When I am feeling tired or just down and out that life is not fair I think about my day and try to identify positive things that the day had. This really keeps me motivated.” I have not heard that quote before, but I thought it would be a good one to remember (especially when I am having a bad day.) I have a favorite quote as well and it goes like this, “ When a toxic person can no longer control you, they will try to control how others see you. This misinformation will feel unfair, but stay above it! Trusting that other people will eventually see the truth, just like you did.” I actually saw this quote on a dry erase board in the library at Texas State (I transferred to UH Spring 2017.) I was going through a lot with my old roommates at the time, but this motivated me that it will all be over soon. As it did.
In conclusion, success can mean a lot of things. To me my definition of success isn't the amount of money you make, but the influences you make in others life. To my interviewee it is seeing her student’s being successful. Being successful is a huge accomplishment and we can achieve them in a variety of ways, we just need to be motivated enough to achieve
